Fall 2009 Presentations
- October 1, 2009 (Announcement Poster)
Ahmad Douglas: Cyber Security, Information Assurance, and Information Warfare
In this presentation, we will explore internship and full-time employment opportunities at Los Alamos National Laboratory, one of the United States' premier multi-disciplinary scientific research laboratories. Our primary focus will be careers in computer science, with a special look at emerging opportunities in cyber security, information assurance, and information warfare.

Radu Creanga and Robert S. Roos: Points of Interest Along the Santa Fe Ant Trail
Genetic Programming (GP) is a technique for evolving populations of computer programs using principles of natural selection. One famous benchmark of GP performance involves finding a program to control an artificial ant to maximize its food-gathering abilities within a fixed domain. Grammatical Evolution (GE) is a form of grammar-based genetic programming. Our primary interest in GE lies in the realm of generative and developmental systems. Since GE is based on grammars we are hoping to use a grammatical structure called an L-system to develop techniques that will allow us to generalize solutions to ant problems to make them scale to domains of many different sizes.
