There are a few different theorys of who and what talos was exactly. One theory was that Talos was the son of Cres and father of Hephaestus. Another, says Talos was a creature made of bronze given by Zeus to Europa or by Hephaestus to Minos to be the protecter of Crete. None-the-less, Talos was a strong, Godlike figure who's job was to run around the island of Crete 3 times a day and throw stones from the mountains to incoming enemies. His simbolic attributes as to regards of a robot is his bronze frame and his Ichor (oil, or lifeline). Talos' death has been debated over with various conclusions. One being that Medea had drew out a nail from Talo's ankle, spilling all the Ichor, and causing Talos' death. Another theory being that Talos grazed his ankle on a rock causing his death, and a last theory being Poeas, father of Philoctetes, shot him dead in the ankle.
According to Greek legend dating back to nearly 630 b.c., Talos was a powerful godlike automation of bronze. Talos was said to be immense and powerful, capable of defending the isle of Crete by hurling boulders at oncoming ships. Talos would stand in flames until his metal body would glow red with heat, and then he would squeeze his enemies and burn them to death. There are a few different myths regarding TalosÃÂâÃÂÃÂÃÂàhistory. One was that Talos was the son of the god Cres and father of the god Hephaestus. Another, says Talos was given by Zeus to the lady Europa or by Hephaestus to Minos to be the protector of Crete. Talos held many similarities to what we today would consider a robot. Among them being his metal frame, and his Ichor (oil, or lifeline) that ran in his body. The ichor in TalosÃÂâÃÂÃÂÃÂàbears a similarity to a hydraulic fluid of sorts. When the bolt stopping the ichor is removed, the automation ceased to function. Talos' death has been debated over with various conclusions. One was that Medea had drew out the bolt from TalosÃÂâÃÂÃÂÃÂàankle, spilling the Ichor, and causing Talos' death. Another theory was that Talos grazed his ankle on a rock causing his death, and a last theory being Poeas shot him dead in the ankle.
