The Department of Computer Science maintains 3 computer labs in Alden Hall. All labs are open weekdays from 8am until 11pm with additional weekend hours dependent on staffing.
All lab computers are replaced every 5 years through an annual replacement cycle. Each computer runs Ubuntu Linux 16.04 with centralized home directories and user accounts maintained by the Department of Computer Science.
The Multimedia Technology Classroom hosts 40 student workstations and 1 instructor workstation. The presentation podium provides projector capabilities for the instructor computer, document camera, and a presenter laptop.
The Software Design Lab hosts 9 student workstations in a configuration ideal for small group collaboration. The central computer also provides projection capabilities.
The Advanced Computing Lab hosts 18 student workstations and 1 instructor workstation. The presentation desk provides projection capabilities for the instructor workstation.
Two small research labs are located adjacent to faculty offices to facilitate student-faculty research. Each lab houses 2 workstations.
